Adelaide to Brisbane Day 4
This morning I said to David “you always wanted to go on a houseboat, this has to be just as good”. We were then talking to a Man untieing his houseboat to move moorings and he offered to take us to see the weir at lock 10. We also saw where the two rivers meet and had an amazing ride on his amazing boat. He used to have a boat tour business and was also a councillor on the local council so we were given history of the area as well.

Adelaide to Brisbane Day 3
Went for a walk down into the town and noticed the caravan park on the river. I enquired and we could get an unpowered site on the river edge for $20 per night with full use of all the amenities.

Notice the change in the colour of the water, we are on the Darling and through the trees the blue water is the Murray. We thought we would stay a couple of nights that has turned into a week.
A flick of the lure and David had a bit of fun with an inedible carp.

Tim and Kylie came and collected us and we went to Musque food and wine for dinner.

Adelaide to Brisbane Day 2
After a good night sleep at Greenock Sports Ground David went for a walk into the town after Breakfast. Set off for Wentworth catching the ferry across the Murray at Morgan.
David went for a walk down to look at Lock 2

Thankyou to “Cossie from South Aussie” talking about the iconic Overland Corner Hotel. We spotted the sign went for a look and we’re not disappointed with the history or the lunch.
David is always surprised by the contrast of the dry barron land with the mighty Murray River close by.
We had wanted to find this playground at Monash on our way into Adelaide when we had Emily but found it today!
Tonight we are staying in the car park of the sports grounds at Wentworth which invites RV’s to stay and were welcomed by one of the golfers.

30th September 2015
Packed up the caravan, joined the Boundy,s and headed for Redbrook Dam via Bundaberg. Karen and I visited Tea Cup Quilts and then we all visited the Rum Distillery.
Arriving at Lake Redbrook and David needed a lime for his beer off to the Orchard to pick one for him.
Thursday - We went for a walk the whole way around the Dam, passed the deer farm, piggery, old log hut complete with a life like dummy lying on the bed.
Friday - it was off to the winery's in Ross and Karens vehicle. It was great to go together and spontaneously stop at different places. We visited three winery's, shops in Childers and lunch at Localishous at Apple Tree Creek - great pizza.
Saturday - Ross and Karen left to go back home. David and I booked for another two nights. We went to Church in Childers on Sunday morning where Mike Vercoe is the current locum.
After Church we drove to Bundaberg to visit David's parents then down to Bargara to visit Bev and Greg Hanson.
We decided to stay yet another night and met Kylie,Tim and Emily at Childers on their way home from the Sunshine Coast. Then it was lunch at the Rectory with Mike. Back at the Redbrook where the park owners organised drinks in the camp kitchen as the camp was quiet now the long weekend crowd had left.
Tuesday - Bargara stopping to get a few supplies at Woolworths as we were a bit early for the van park. Stopped at the bakery to get some GF rolls as Bev had recommended them. Best rolls I have ever had.
Wednesday - went into Bundaberg, we both had a massage then I went for a lesson on my sewing machine. Did some shopping and looking around then back to Bargara where we had lunch at the Bakers and fish and chip shop next door to the bakers. Phoned Kylie and organised to meet her in Miriam Vale on Friday to collect Emily to bring her to Bargara for two nights.

Well I have not posted here for so long. Aunty Louise has inspired me to blog again. What a way to get out of the washing up while Thermomix makes the custard for dessert.
