Happenings February end

Another water leak outside the ladies ablution block this time.

We went to visit Mum and Dad and helped remove some wallpaper ready for them to get it painted.

The girls at craft have found an interest in paper piecing so I took this photo of Mum's to show them.

David's Birthday

We cooked breakfast in Endeavour Park and then the revisited Australia Day festivities began so we were entertained with live music. We went to church at 2pm and then to the tree bar for dinner. It was either purchase something to cook or go out for dinner and thankfully David chose the latter. We enjoyed dinner overlooking the bay and then a walk home in the rain. David enjoyed reading a book on  his birthday present an iPad mini.

On our way home again, stopping outside the pub at Miriam Vale to use the amenities accross the road and David saw a good photo opportunity.

1770

Today we started with a walk along the board walk. We enjoyed lunch at the caravan park bistro. (The photo does not show how good the view was.) David spotted some dolphins so we went for a kayak where he saw them but they were gone. We went out to the waves and that was exciting. The rest of the afternoon was spent reading, stitching and playing scrabble. I did use best word once to win the only chance I have with David .

Bowls

John invited us to barefoot bowls. We met Adele and Wayde Hughes and Helen Rinaldis there as well. I had no idea how to bowl a ball but we had a lot of fun and enjoyed a BBQ burger afterwards.

1770

We started our day by cooking bacon and eggs on a BBQ overlooking the bay. We then kayaked to an island where David thought we could have a picnic. We had just had breakfast so all I packed was water. After a walk to the other side we peddled back. We met Julia Cook in IGA who invited us to go to her home to have coffee with her and John. Julia and John were our first neighbours at Dixon Drive.

Mug Rug Swap

I received my swap partner and they indicated they did not like blue or black so back to the sewing bench for me and here is progress with the non blue ones.

My Quilt

I am so excited after three years I am getting close to finishing my quilt. A block of the month, I finished piecing the blocks before we went on holidays last year so I could do the hand sewing while we were away. I achieved that and purchased the first two borders laid it on the spare bed for a while, packed it away in the drawer all too hard. Thursday night sewing at Tanyalla, lots of room maybe I can put the borders on. Done! A trip to Rockhampton with a friend and I purchased the last border. Lucky we have no camps for a week and I can use this great sewing room with wonderful sea breezes and scenic outlook.

Jeff and Sue are cooking a roast for dinner how lucky am I to be able to sew and someone else cook dinner.
